U18 Premier Men win East v West London Battle

Aaron and Simon paired well at the beginning of the game demonstrating great teamwork with the boys very sluggish to begin the game. London United took full advantage of the static defence and drove to the basket, taking the lead in the first quarter 29-16 to London Utd. The Youngblood’s boys
came off the court looking deflated, knowing that they now had to play catch up!

Titas Zydelis stepped up his role as point guard and rallied the team to run their offence with Laja Ogidan plays on the inside and Orestas Vasiliauskas shooting from beyond the arc helped the East London boys whittle down the lead to 43-37 to London United. London United felt they already had the game won, sadly for them Youngblood’s did not feel the same way.

The third quarter was a revelation. Coach Caroline inspiring team talk did the job. The team went
out renewed and hustled in defence! Stole the ball, Ran fast breaks putting Samiri and Simon
into action on the fast breaks. Aaron slammed dunked the basket so effortlessly that the partisan
crowd had to applaud his skill. After being 13point’s down! Youngblood’s was now ahead by 6.
End of third quarter 54-60.

With trey balls still raining in from the trio that was a task to far for London United. London
Youngblood’s finish the game with everyone on the scorebook and their fourth win in succession 71-89 Youngblood’s. Next week the team travels to Sussex.
