U14 Premier Boys off to Thunderous Start

Youngbloods kicked off this season with an impressive win over Worthing Thunder 100-27. Both gave a good account of them selves and show cased great sportsmanship through out the game.

Youngbloods got off to a great start with new boy Saltan Adewale showing off his dominance scoring 6 of his game high of 36 points early on.  Defensive efforts were key as the Lions raced into a big lead 24 – 6 to end the first.

Lions continued their supremacy in the second quarter forcing turnovers coupled with some slick passing to increase their lead. New boy Ben Reid-Akinmoldun getting on the score sheet and dominating the boards. Jayden Baldie was impressive defensively and explosive offensively scoring 9 points and assisting Alfe Grech to a 3 point shot to end the half 47- 10.

Captain Marc Mendoza who scored 15 points on the day lead the team at the third with some acrobatic layups backed by Samzel Quay and new boy Luca Faggiani. They dominated the guard play much to the delight of Coach Stephen and home support.

Final quarter would see the visitors rally to score some impressive baskets as their talisman Dovydas Sidabra came to life with his team high 15 points, but it was too little too late as the lions roared to victory and securing the first win of the season.
