U16D Acers defeat Folkestone Saints

Youngbloods Acers Under 16 Boys Development Team made the journey to Folkstone, Kent with the Acers looking to maintain their unbeaten record against this team.

Youngbloods made a fast start, scoring the first eight points. Folkestone replied with a 3 pointer. Errors allowed Saints back into the quarter, but Emmanuel Onwuka kept attacking the basket to keep Youngbloods in the game. With the first quarter finishing with Youngbloods down by 1 Point.
In the 2nd Quarter Dalton Bally joined Onwuka in the attack of the basket. Fantastic offence & defence rebounding from Dominykas Pavilonis kept the fast breaks coming for Youngbloods, but the Saints would counter with another 3 point shot! At the end of the 2nd quarter, Youngbloods had reversed the 1st quarter to lead by one point, 27-28.
The 3rd Quarter saw the Saints run all over Youngbloods. Youngbloods lost their form and composure, letting Folkestone pull ahead by 11 points Coach Caroline Charles called a time-out, allowing the team to gather themselves and to return to the game plan. The Youngbloods team and Hocine Boudeouaou came alive to start playing and contributing to the team score. After the time out, the rhythm of the game returned and the third quarter ended 46-46. The 4th quarter saw the lead exchange hands until the last 2minutes of the game. Youngbloods took a 4 point lead thanks to Pavilonis. Which lead to continuous efforts to stop the clock, but also sending Youngbloods to the free throw line to add to their total and come home with the Win.
