Youngbloods Ram Past Surrey in U14 Clash

First quarter started off very tight as both teams traded baskets, Alex Distras lead the way with the first 5 points early on for Newham as he then picked up 2 early fouls meaning he had to sub early-on in the first quarter.

The Rams lead at the end of the first quarter with good end to end play exposing Youngbloods defence, 16-12.

In the Second Quarter Newham stepped up with Franklin Agu and Nathan Kataraka securing the rebounds not giving the Rams second opportunities. Alex Distras then picked up a third foul, was then forced to sit for the rest of the quarter. Latrell Marson rised to the occasion to scored 9 points in the second quarter as he helped Newhem to hold the Rams, 14 points to 22 points, at the end of the second quarter giving Youngbloods a 34 to 30 lead at the end of the half.

Rams came out firing at the beginning of the third, holding Newham to 12 points to 20 points. Foul trouble would play a big part at the later stages but the Rams lead at the end 50-46.

Fourth quarter began trading baskets, with a spark of the bench Titus Warari came on with great energy played great defence and got a number of stills. Winding down to the end of the quarter. Gustus Skorobogatovas hit a clutch 3 pointer to help the visiting side pull away. Quickly followed by an Alex Distras clutch 3 pointer; Forcing the Rams to foul. With the Rams main player fouled out, Newham went on to win the fourth quarter 24-14 and winning the game. Final score 70-64 to Newham as they remained undefeated in the U14s Premier Division.
