Under 18 Men
Vale (Cardiff) 63 – 87 Youngbloods
The Youngblood’s u18 boys took the long drive to Wales for their game against Vale. Youngblood’s defence was on point right from the beginning of the game. But due to tired legs from the long drive to Wales the East London team just could not pull ahead. Defence really saved Youngblood’s and Vale found it very hard to take advantage of the fatigued team 1st quarter saw Youngblood’s with 19 points and Vale with 9 Thanks to Joe Rider & Ben Maranan.
With Cleve Charles and Jonas Antanaitis adding to the tally for the second quarter Youngblood’s started to feel their legs and ran away with the 2nd quarter 48-22. The 3rd quarter saw Youngblood’s hit another wall and they were finding it hard to find the basket. Whereas, Vale all of a sudden found their form outscoring Youngblood’s 22-16.
Youngblood’s had a comfortable lead and continued to work as a team in the 4th quarter to open the Vale’s defence. With Adomus Zemgulys finishing at the rim from a perfect assist from Cleve Charles was the pick of the baskets in the 4th quarter and Paulius Barzdzius also showed it’s next to impossible to stop his shot as he popped a couple of baskets towards the end of the quarter.
